    The Caulerpa Taxifolia macroalgae has long fronds with segmented appendages which can reach up to 20-30cm in length. This marine algae is tolerant to a wide range of water temperatures but will need more light than for example Caulerpa Prolifera. This is a very nice looking macro algae which gives the marine tank a beautiful natural look.

    Light
    The Caulerpa Taxifolia macroalgae prefers medium to strong light.

    Attaching
    This marine algae will attach itself to rock etc. we recommend not to place it too close to your main rock, unlike you like to have it there. It needs some trimming and attention as it is fast growing. Great to keep in the sump as well.

    Caulerpa Case
    Some caulerpa macroalgae species might go sexual, which means that it releases gametes and tissue into the marine aquarium water. 
    Although this said, we never had in 15 years any problem with this macro algae species, and it was one of the first macroalgae we got.
    One thing to avoid this is good light and to remove pale turning parts of it plus not to change water parameters too rapidly.

    Trimming
    Whitish parts of the Caulerpa Taxifolia should be removed as they are decomposing.

    Treatment
    Like for most marine macroalgae a higher level of Nitrate and Phosphate, in addition to the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements will improve the growth of this live algae.

    If the macroalgae is not growing as expected a special formulated fertiliser for the marine aquarium can help to improve the growth of the macroalgae. Please find a selection of supplements for the marine aquarium HERE

    We do our best to quarantine, treat and remove any unwanted hitchhikers, parasites etc from our macro algae but we can not guarantee that the algae are completely free of anything unwanted, not limited to Copepods, Rotifers etc. This is simply because that sometimes eggs, spores, etc can remain viable but not visible and hitchhikers can still stay hidden, especially in dense algae structures, despite our strict quarantine efforts. 

    All macro algae will be thoroughly dipped in a professional solution to deactivate hitchhikers as good as possible before posting. If you don't want this, please send us a message together with your order.

    We highly recommend nonetheless that you properly quarantine anything new before adding it to your marine tank.

    Very good service, polite and quick response via email. I bought a large colony of callerpa taxifolia that arrived in very good condition and has anchored to the rock fast and has a lot of new growth already. I also bought a small piece of blue ochtode but due to the shipping taking longer then expected, it arrived transparent in colour but the awesome freebie I was provided Makes up for the loss. I Will be purchasing more macro from this company and I would advise other to do so
